Thank you all for your great contributions! I’m going to do the interior design project for a house (for my id course) based on the “west coast” look and your inputs were really a great starting point:)
I guess I should put “tumblr” in my bibliography at the end ^_^

West coast style?
Dear followers, I have a question for academic purposes:
What does “west coast style” (USA) means to you? What comes to your mind (images, materials, colours, scenery…) when you think of houses designed under this style?
Thank you*
How to Tell When You’re Over-Propped →
“Studying these spaces, one can’t help noticing that the décor seems to bear little relationship to the way people actually live: deer antlers adorn the walls of people who almost certainly don’t hunt; vintage typewriters sit on school desks too small to be functional; books have been arranged on shelves by color to reflect some perceived notion of good design.”
How much love should you put into your rental? →
“Paint it. If you really want to, that is. How much was your rental deposit? If it was minor, then so what. Go for it. If you want to live with color, do it. You can either decide that you will paint first and ask for forgiveness later. (…) Be brave about paint. If they say no, paint it anyway. There is very little they will do as long as you are paying your rent on time.”
